Quilts for the firehouses / whas crusade for children
Every year Quilters' Day Out chooses a charity to give back to. This year we have chosen to make quilts to donate to the local fire stations to help them raise money for the WHAS Crusade for Children.
Established in 1954 by WHAS-TV, the WHAS Crusade for Children raises money for agencies, schools, and hospitals across Kentucky and Southern Indiana, helping children heal, learn, and reach their full potential. Their mission is to make life better for children with identified health care, educational, and emotional wellness needs by inspiring generosity with our community partners. Be a hero. Change a child’s life.
Quilters' Day Out invites guilds, shops, businesses, and individuals to join us in giving back to this worthwhile cause by making a quilt. All quilts will be donated to a local fire station which will, in turn, raffle off each quilt to raise funds for the WHAS Crusade for Children.
These quilts will be presented to the fire stations in a ceremony during Quilters’ Day Out on March 14, 2026.
The winners of the quilts will be announced on the Crusade for Children broadcast June 6 & 7, 2026, on WHAS TV.
