Tips for attendees
Wear comfortable shoes!
Remember the Guild Room! - Our tagline is "A Gathering of the Guilds" for a reason. Without guilds we wouldn't have the companionship we have throughout the year, and we need to support them during the event. There will be demonstrations going on at their booths throughout the day, as well, so be sure to stop by and talk to the various representatives in attendance.
Carpool - Carpooling with friends is one of the best ways to travel; however, there is ample parking available at the Centre for whatever your mode of transportation. There is also a covered portico for loading and unloading.
Bring exact change for the $10 admission. - This will speed up the process for entering so you won't have to wait for change to be counted back to you.
Enter the venue via the main entrance. - The side entrance is not open, and the gate near the front entrance is locked and cannot be opened.
Bring plenty of change for buying Door Prize tickets. - Tickets are $1 each, and there will be many Guild Baskets and the Grand Prize available to choose from. Remember that you might want to enter your name several times for the same basket or baskets!
Bring address labels to put on prize tickets. - This will save you time and ensure that the announcer can read your name.
Entry and Door Prize tickets can be used for either Guild Baskets or the Grand Prize, but NOT for Vendor Door Prizes! - Vendors who are providing door prizes will have their own entry methods available, so please don't confuse your tickets!
Wear your wristband. - If you should leave the venue for any reason, you can return without repaying admission as long as you show your wristband at the Admissions table.
Vote in the Viewers' Choice Challenge! - First Place Winners in each category receive $100, so be sure to vote for your favorites! This year, there are two Viewers' Choice Challenges: a Block challenge and Quilt challenge. Be sure to vote in both!
Keep your program handy. - It'll be a good place for locating guild and vendor booths, finding scheduled times for demos/classes/drawings, taking notes, plus lots of other information about the event!
Feel free to continue shopping or browsing the Guild Room during Prize Drawing announcements. - While you must be present to claim your prize, you don't need to be in the room at the exact moment your name is called. Announcements will be made in the Guild Room and Challenge Room shortly after being made in the Vendors' Room, but can also be heard throughout the venue. So you won't miss anything by not being present at the Door Prize Drawing. Also, unclaimed winning tickets/names will be posted near the stage until the time of the next drawing, so you can claim your prize any time before that.
Do not bring lunch from home! - The venue is not allowing guests to bring in food. Breakfast and Lunch will be available for purchase, and seating will be provided. Alternatively, there are several fast food and sit down restaurants in close proximity to the venue.
Have a question or comment? - Talk to one of our committee members. They'll be wearing a colorful lanyard with a name badge featuring our logo. Feedback forms will also be available for you to fill out.
Lastly - Bring a friend or two and HAVE FUN!
